OSI Awarded USDA Contract to Help Feed American Families
Company will supply meat items to non-profit organizations in the Midwest through the USDA’s Farmers to Families Food Box Program
May 12, 2020 – OSI was awarded a U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) contract through its new Farmers to Families Food Box Program as part of the Coronavirus Farm Assistance Program (CFAP). The contract will enable OSI to supply bacon, sausage, hot dogs and meatballs for free to qualifying 501(c)3 organizations.
The USDA recently approved $1.2 billion in contracts for the Farmers to Families Food Box Program designed to connect excess meat, dairy and produce on farms with families facing food insecurity. Through the CFAP, the USDA is purchasing and distributing up to $3 billion of agricultural products to those in need.
